Tarot Birth Card Calculator
Enter your date of birth to find your tarot birth card and, where you have one, your soul card.
How your birth card is calculated
Add every digit of your full date of birth. If the total is above 22, add its digits again until it is 22 or less. The result is your birth card, matched to the Major Arcana from The Fool (0, also written as 22) to The World (21).
If your total is 10 or higher, you also have a soul card: keep adding the digits of the total until you reach a single digit from 1 to 9. For example, 2 January 1980 gives 0+2+0+1+1+9+8+0 = 21, so the birth card is The World and the soul card is 2+1 = 3, The Empress.
How to read your result
Your birth card is a reflective lens, a theme you may recognise in your habits and strengths. Your soul card, when there is one, is read as the quieter, underlying side of that theme. Neither card predicts your life; they are a starting point for thinking about yourself. Read the full card page for upright and reversed meanings, love, career and money.
Different teachers use slightly different methods, so you may see other calculators give a different pair. This one follows the common digit-reduction method described above.

Frequently asked questions
What is a tarot birth card?
It is the Major Arcana card matched to your date of birth through numerology. Readers use it as a reflective theme about your strengths and lessons, not as a prediction.
Why do some people have two birth cards?
If the digit total of your birth date is 10 or higher, it reduces further to a single digit. The first number gives your birth card and the single digit gives your soul card.
Why does another calculator give me a different card?
Teachers use different methods, for example how they handle totals above 22. This calculator uses the common digit-reduction method explained on this page.
Does my birth card predict my future?
No. It is a reflective theme drawn from numerology and tarot symbolism. Treat it as a prompt to think about yourself, and not as a forecast.
